Launching my New Site

As I said in the home page of  the NEW My Way of Living, I'm so very happy for this renewal and I decided to launch it on my birthday as my own gift. 

I have to thank my son Felipe for encouraging and helping me in this task.

(I will be updating this site for a few more months)

 

I did this collage on a corrugated cardboard covering it completely with newspaper. After that I painted the surface pouncing it with gray and beige gesso adding a few colors of acrylic paints to give it more interest. The papers as usual are bits and pieces of gelli prints, painted magazine pages, old book pages, etc. I stamped in a few places with gold paint and no added texture but the organic one the glue left when I covered the cardboard.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sewn Collage

As you already may know I love collages and after three weeks out of town, I was eager to make one. I used tons of leftovers of die cuts, failed stamped images, gelli prints, paper I use to clean my brayer when painting or spraying and a few pieces of Thai paper. After I glued everything in place I started to sew randomly and in a very messy way.

Origami Pinwheel Video

As long as origami seems to be very tricky for me, I decided to make a video on how I did the pinwheel where I hid my 2016 resolutions and used it as a focal point on a layout.

 

 

Resolutions 2016

I can't remember when was the last time I did a layout, at least two years I guess. My focus was the origami piece with my 2016 resolutions and not very much on the design itself, even though I enjoyed adding textures and colors.

I have hard times following instructions with origami but I love it so when I saw this " Christmas wreath" I was determined to do it and hide in the pinwheel  form my thoughts.

I used a Paris napkin

Published again!!

So very happy to share with you that I've been published again. This time is in the Sew Somerset Winter 2016 issue with some fabric collages I did a while ago.

 

A Bigger Fabric Organizer

A little addictive....painting fabric? yes, sewing? yes creating anything?? yes!! Oh well, I felt I needed a bigger organizer so I could place one into the other plus my journal and bigger pads of papers and here it is. I changed the motifs of course, (this time I did use fabric paint) and the measurements, the rest is the same as the smaller one.

Paris, a journal page

I'm very touched about what's going on in Paris so I decided to make a journal page.

The background was made out of a stenciled Gelli print

Painted Fabric Organizer

I did this organizer to carry my art supplies when traveling just for fun.

Unfortunately I used acrylics without any fabric medium so I hope to maintain it far from the water....next time.... As you can see, I doodled , stencilled and stamped over the paint.

 

Mandala

This is my first Mandala. I created it with stencils and painted with watercolors and Inktense pencils. I also doodled and used a few stamps to decorate it.
