I guess I have posted thousands of times "My new Passion", but it's totally real. I get passionate with new art discoveries and I feel like a child when I play with them. I don't post everything I do and believe me, I do tons of stuff!!!!
Today I'm sharing two projects and a video tutorial on how to gold leaf, hope you find some inspiration!
So very happy to share with you that I've been published again. This time is in the Sew Somerset Winter 2016 issue with some fabric collages I did a while ago.
When I purchased these Prima resins, I wasn't sure where or how to use them. I found this wooden frame and immediately though of this heart. Outside the box.....again!!
I first covered the whole frame with gesso and then painted it with blue acrylic paint, (still didn't know exactly what to do). Looking into my huge stash of (Thai, Indian, Korean etc.) papers, I decided to use this marbled one to match the color I used and covered the inside and outside completely. I could have skipped the painting and just do the the edges but this is the way I create....no plan ahead!
The heart was covered with glitter (oh my....never use it) and to give it a matte look I applied matte medium. The golden top is acrylic paint and then this bling...am I being me??
I almost forgot to say I used Viva Ferro in gold to add some texture to the frame along with Viva glitter paste in hematite
I've been invited to participate in a Youtubers group called Creative Arts Collaboration. They have a theme for each month where hundreds of artists make videos under a "Hashtag". For September they chose #LoveFallArt and here is my video.
This is part of my wooden houses series where I show how I do the foundation of them. I hope you get some inspiration!!
This is the last house I have done. First steps can be found HERE. I'm recording a video so you can watch the whole process on a new house.
After painting it I covered the front with this Tim Holtz tissue
I started to decorate the house using Prima wood doors again, resin elements painted with Inka Viva Gold, a wax seal and some metal accents. I also used a clay embellishment I did a while ago (on the top of the door)
For the final step I just added the metal number with brads
Today is the turn of house number five's tutorial. First steps can be found HERE.
Raw house
For this house I used a stencil with molding paste to give it more of a building look. I also used a charcoal pencil to paint over some "windows" just a tiny bit
I've had these Prima doors for ages and never knew where to use them. I decided to place only one as the main door
As you may have noticed, I love metal embellishments, so I added a few here
Finished house with the quote
